Pastor Mary StewartReverend Mary (Myers) Stewart was born into a Christian home and received the Lord at the age of 4.  Though she was young, she had a desire to serve the Lord.  She became involved in the local Assemblies of God Church and served in various ministries.

Later when attending the university, her faith in the Lord was challenged; however, the experience resulted in providing greater strength for her relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.  After receiving a Master of Science degree from the University of Missouri, she moved to California and became a professor at Chico State University, where she also started a Chi Alpha group on campus.  She then taught at San Jose State University and assisted her husband in the campus ministry at San Jose State.

She married Rev. Ed Stewart in 1967 and went into full-time ministry with her husband when they moved to San Francisco in 1972 to be the pastors of Community Assembly of God.  For 35 years, they both provided this church with stable, strong leadership, with their vision leading the church through the purchase and occupancy of two new locations.  Pastor Ed went home to be with the Lord on May 9, 2007, and now Pastor Mary is continuing to lead the congregation toward the fulfillment of the vision that the Lord has given to this church.

Pastor Mary has a real concern for young people.  The Youth Center has been a burning desire for both her and her husband.  High priority is being given to the completion and operation of this great ministry.

Pastor Mary is an excellent teacher, educator, and motivator.  In addition, she is a highly gifted musician and vocalist.  Pastor Mary has been faithful to the call the Lord had given to her and her husband as they both served as Pastors of this church.  Pastor Mary has never had a casual, laid back attitude toward the things of God, but has always given her best to the work of the Lord.  She is a living testimony of courage, sacrifice, hard work, perseverance, and integrity.
